When it comes to non-contact, non-destructive and imaging inspection of a wide variety of materials, there is no way around the technological expertise and innovative strength of IMS X-ray Systems. We develop and manufacture X-ray generators, control systems and complete systems with the ‘Made in Germany’ seal of quality – and our systems ensure the quality optimisation of a wide variety of products and processes.
Our company was founded in 2000 and employs around 70 people at its headquarters in Heiligenhaus, North Rhine-Westphalia. As part of the strong IMS Group, the world market leader for measuring systems, we are part of a network of expertise that enables a wide range of synergy effects.
We work for a wide range of industries (e.g. food, electrical, chemical, metal and plastics processing, medical technology, security, etc.) and our powerful and robust testing systems enable the inspection of organic and non-organic materials during the ongoing production process. We see ourselves not only as a service provider, but rather as a close partner to our customers, for whom we create customised solutions through project-related research and development in our interdisciplinary competence centre.
We are constantly developing new products, improving existing ones and working with you to develop solutions that are precisely tailored to your requirements. Whether preventive maintenance, fill level measurement, incoming goods inspection, completeness checks or foreign object detection – with IMS X-ray systems, you always have a clear view.

A journey through history
Founding of IMS Röntgensysteme GmbH as an independent company with its own development department. X-ray technology products quickly become attractive to customers outside IMS as well.
IMS X-ray Systems attracts attention with innovative new developments. These include the most compact X-ray generator series on the market and the flexible, modular microfocus X-ray generators.
Always closely linked to its parent company IMS Messsysteme GmbH (formerly IMS Isotopen-Messsysteme GmbH), IMS Röntgensysteme GmbH is now once again a wholly owned subsidiary.
Having previously focused on radiation generation, the company is now developing imaging and image processing X-ray systems for inspection purposes.
Thanks to our experience in highly complex series and small series production, we no longer focus exclusively on core components, but also on the manufacture of individually developed X-ray systems. We supply everything from a single source.
Working closely with customers, a unique at-line inspection system is being developed to inspect complex, multi-layered metal composite panels required for renewable energy generation and storage.
IMS Röntgensysteme GmbH celebrates its 25th anniversary. New developments based on the latest findings and state-of-the-art manufacturing methods remain a central component of the company.
